Quality Concrete concrete work in Huntsville, AL

A concrete driveway is the first thing every visitor sees and the last thing you want to redo. We pour residential driveways with the same crew, the same mix, and the same finish standard across our service area. The owner walks every project with you before any concrete leaves the truck.

How it works

What a Concrete Driveways project includes

  1. Free site visit + slope assessment

Our crew lead walks the project with you, marks the water-flow direction, and confirms the right concrete thickness for your soil and slope.

  2. Tear-out of the existing driveway

We saw-cut, demo, and haul away every piece of the old concrete. Subgrade gets re-compacted and graded for drainage before any new concrete arrives.

  3. Sub-base prep + rebar grid

Compacted gravel base, vapor barrier where needed, #4 rebar on chairs at 18 inches on center. No skipped steps and no shortcuts on the structural pieces nobody sees.

  4. Form, pour, finish

4-inch thick residential pour with broom finish standard. Stamped or stained finish optional on quote. Edges hand-tooled for clean lines.

  5. Control joints + cure

Joints cut every 8-10 feet to direct cracks where we want them. Cure cover left in place for 24 hours minimum, longer in hot weather.

  6. Final cleanup + walkthrough

Property leaves cleaner than we found it. We walk the finished driveway with you and address anything on the spot, in writing.

Why it matters

What separates a concrete driveways job that lasts from one that does not.

Drainage is more important than thickness

Most cracked driveways failed at the sub-base or the slope, not the pour. We grade the sub-base before the concrete shows up. Water away from the garage, every time.

Control joints are not decoration

Concrete will crack. Joints decide where. We cut joints at engineering-correct spacing so cracks go where you cannot see them, not across the middle of your driveway.

Cure time matters in Alabama heat

Pouring at 95 degrees is a different job than pouring at 70. We schedule pours around weather, slow the cure with cover or fog when needed, and never rush the joint cut.

What drives the price on a concrete driveways project

  • Square footage of the driveway
  • Sub-base condition (compacted vs needs work)
  • Tear-out of existing driveway vs new pour on raw ground
  • Finish type: broom (standard), smooth troweled, stamped, or stained
  • Permit requirements in your city / county
  • Distance from our shop

Questions

Questions Huntsville homeowners ask about concrete driveways.

How long does a new concrete driveway take?
A typical residential tear-out and replacement runs 5 to 7 working days. Day 1 demo, day 2 sub-base, day 3 forms and rebar, day 4 pour, days 5-7 cure. You can walk on it day 1 after pour. Drive on it day 7.
How much does a concrete driveway cost?
Residential driveways in our service area run $4,000 to $15,000 depending on size, tear-out, and finish. We give you a written number after the free site visit.
Do you need a permit?
Most residential driveway replacements in most of our service area do not require a permit. Driveways tied to a new residential addition or in the public right-of-way usually do. We pull the permit when one is needed.
What thickness do you pour?
4 inches is standard residential. 6 inches for driveways that will see heavy trucks, RVs, or trailers. We size the pour to the actual load you will park on it, not a default.

What moves the price up or down

  • Square footage

Roughly $4 to $5 per square foot for flatwork. We measure it on site during the estimate rather than guessing from the driveway.

  • Sub-base condition

A slab over a sound, compacted base costs less than one needing excavation, fill and recompaction.

  • Finish

Broom is the base. Smooth-trowel, exposed aggregate, stamped or stained each add labour and material.

  • Access

If the truck cannot reach the pour, concrete gets moved by buggy or pump, and that is time.

  • Tear-out

Removing and hauling an existing slab is its own line, priced by thickness and reinforcement.

Flatwork runs roughly $4 to $5 per square foot. Square footage is measured and evaluated during the estimate, and the final number comes to you in writing after a free on-site visit.

Verified reviews from real customers.

  • I had a great experience with this concrete company from start to finish. They were professional, on time, and very easy to communicate with throughout the entire project. The crew paid attention to detail and made sure everything was done right the first time. The quality of the work really stands out — the finish is smooth, clean, and exactly what I was looking for. They also kept the job site neat and completed the work within the timeframe they promised. If you’re looking for reliable and high-quality concrete work, I definitely recommend them. I would not hesitate to hire them again for future projects.
