Quality Concrete concrete work in Huntsville, AL

A concrete patio is one of the highest-return outdoor improvements you can make to a home in Alabama. We pour patios across our service area, with finish options from clean broom to stamped slate. We chalk-line the patio shape with you on your actual yard before we dig.

How it works

What a Concrete Patios project includes

  1. Layout + design walkthrough

We chalk-line the patio shape with you on your actual yard. Adjust the shape before we dig, not after.

  2. Excavation + base prep

Dig to depth, compact gravel base, set forms to your design. Sub-base is where patios fail or hold up.

  3. Rebar grid + pour

#4 rebar at 18 inches OC. 4-inch slab thickness standard for residential patios. Thicker if the patio will hold a hot tub or built-in feature.

  4. Finish selection

Broom, smooth, exposed-aggregate, stamped, or stained. We pour finish samples on day 1 if you want to see options on your actual ground.

  5. Control joints + cure

Joints prevent cracking. Cure cover for 24 hours, walk-on at 7 days, full strength at 28 days.

  6. Final cleanup

Forms removed, debris hauled, site swept. Your yard looks like the patio was always there.

Why it matters

What separates a concrete patios job that lasts from one that does not.

Patio size should match how you use it

A grill + table for 4 needs 12x14. Outdoor seating for 8 needs 16x20. We size patios around your actual furniture plan, not a default rectangle.

Finish picks how long the patio looks new

Broom is the most durable finish in Alabama weather. Stamped is gorgeous but reseals every 3-5 years. Stained is in between. We tell you the tradeoffs.

Drainage on a patio matters too

Patios pitched the wrong direction send water into the house. We grade every patio at least 1/4 inch per foot away from the structure.

What drives the price on a concrete patios project

  • Square footage
  • Finish type (broom, smooth, stamped, stained)
  • Edge treatment (square form vs curved or cantilevered)
  • Connection to existing structures (porch, driveway)
  • Slab thickness and reinforcement for the intended use

Questions

Questions Huntsville homeowners ask about concrete patios.

How long until I can use my new patio?
You can place light furniture on it after 7 days. Hot tub or grill the same. Full strength at 28 days, but normal residential use is fine after the first week.
How much does a concrete patio cost?
Residential patios run $3,000 to $10,000 in our market depending on size and finish. Stamped or stained adds 30-50% to the base broom-finish price.
Can you tie a new patio into my existing porch slab?
Yes. We use rebar dowels into the existing slab so the new patio is structurally tied. A controlled joint at the seam handles natural movement between the two pours.
What patio shapes do you do?
Rectangular, square, L-shape, curved, kidney, free-form. The shape costs about the same; the form work is the labor difference. We can do almost any shape you sketch.

What moves the price up or down

  • Square footage

Roughly $4 to $5 per square foot for flatwork. We measure it on site during the estimate rather than guessing from the driveway.

  • Sub-base condition

A slab over a sound, compacted base costs less than one needing excavation, fill and recompaction.

  • Finish

Broom is the base. Smooth-trowel, exposed aggregate, stamped or stained each add labour and material.

  • Access

If the truck cannot reach the pour, concrete gets moved by buggy or pump, and that is time.

  • Tear-out

Removing and hauling an existing slab is its own line, priced by thickness and reinforcement.

Flatwork runs roughly $4 to $5 per square foot. Square footage is measured and evaluated during the estimate, and the final number comes to you in writing after a free on-site visit.

  • I had a great experience with this concrete company from start to finish. They were professional, on time, and very easy to communicate with throughout the entire project. The crew paid attention to detail and made sure everything was done right the first time. The quality of the work really stands out — the finish is smooth, clean, and exactly what I was looking for. They also kept the job site neat and completed the work within the timeframe they promised. If you’re looking for reliable and high-quality concrete work, I definitely recommend them. I would not hesitate to hire them again for future projects.
