I had a great experience with this concrete company from start to finish. They were professional, on time, and very easy to communicate with throughout the entire project. The crew paid attention to detail and made sure everything was done right the first time. The quality of the work really stands out — the finish is smooth, clean, and exactly what I was looking for. They also kept the job site neat and completed the work within the timeframe they promised. If you’re looking for reliable and high-quality concrete work, I definitely recommend them. I would not hesitate to hire them again for future projects.

A foundation is the one piece of your project you cannot redo without a wrecking ball. We pour residential foundations to engineer specifications, with footings inspected before any vertical work goes on top. We work with your engineer or your general contractor; if you do not have one, we will tell you straight whether the project needs an engineered drawing or not.
How it works
What a Concrete Foundations project includes
Engineer-spec review
We work from your engineer drawings or pull a permit-required spec. No guesswork on footing depth, wall reinforcement, or anchor placement.
Footing excavation + inspection
Dig to required depth, set rebar cages per the spec, schedule the county inspection before any pour. No pour until the inspector signs off.
Footing pour + cure
Footing pour with 3000-psi mix, cure 48 hours minimum before wall or slab pour.
Slab or wall pour
Per the spec: monolithic slab, stem wall with separate slab pour, or full basement wall with poured forms. We do all three.
Anchor bolts + sill plate
Set per the framing spec while concrete is still wet. Verified plumb and at correct spacing before cure begins.
Cleanup + handoff to framer
Site clean and ready for the framing crew to start the next day if scheduled.
Why it matters
What separates a concrete foundations job that lasts from one that does not.
Foundations cannot be approximated
A driveway that cracks is annoying. A foundation that settles is catastrophic. We pour exactly to the spec, no shortcuts on footing depth or rebar spacing.
Inspections are not paperwork; they are a safety check
Every footing pour gets a county inspection before concrete arrives. If the inspector flags anything, we fix it before we pour. Always.
The first 48 hours of cure are everything
Foundation pours sit covered for 48 hours minimum, longer in cold weather. We schedule pours around the forecast.

- Permit and inspection costs
- Site access for concrete trucks
Questions
Questions Huntsville homeowners ask about concrete foundations.
- Do I need an engineered drawing for a residential addition?
- In most counties, yes, for any addition over 200 square feet. For smaller sheds and detached structures, often no. We can pull the spec and tell you what your project needs.
- How long does a foundation take?
- A small slab foundation for a shed: 3 days. A full addition foundation with footings and stem wall: 7-10 days including the county inspections.
- Can you work with my general contractor?
- Yes, most of our foundation pours are scheduled by a GC or a homeowner who has a framing crew waiting. We coordinate directly.
- How much does a residential foundation cost?
- A shed slab: $2,000-$4,000. An addition footing-and-stem-wall: $8,000-$20,000. A full home foundation: much more, quoted from the engineer drawing.

What moves the price up or down
Square footage
Roughly $4 to $5 per square foot for flatwork. We measure it on site during the estimate rather than guessing from the driveway.
Sub-base condition
A slab over a sound, compacted base costs less than one needing excavation, fill and recompaction.
Finish
Broom is the base. Smooth-trowel, exposed aggregate, stamped or stained each add labour and material.
Access
If the truck cannot reach the pour, concrete gets moved by buggy or pump, and that is time.
Tear-out
Removing and hauling an existing slab is its own line, priced by thickness and reinforcement.
Flatwork runs roughly $4 to $5 per square foot. Square footage is measured and evaluated during the estimate, and the final number comes to you in writing after a free on-site visit.

Mr. Hill poured our driveway and did an excellent job. He was fair on his price and his workmanship was second to none. Most importantly Mr. Hill showed up when he said he would and finished the job in a timely manner. I would recommend Jeffery and Quality Concrete to anyone.
